This was demonstrated by the brand on its Weibo account. According to the company, the updated “Space Charging” air charge station offers a total of 1,600 antennas, which is claimed to allow users to easily pass through obstructions, but at the same time pause charging in a specific area when a human body is detected. It is claimed to offer a 100-degree area of coverage.
Motorola hasn’t officially revealed the maximum charging speed, but tipster Digital Chat Station claims that it is no more than 5W speeds.
There is no word on when this technology will be available for consumers to experience.
Xiaomi Mi Air Charge technology
Motorola is not the only company that has shown this kind of tech. Back in January, Xiaomi too had unveiled a remote charging solution called Mi Air Charge that enables users to charge their devices over-the-air without using any cables or wireless charging stands. The company CEO Lei Jun had mentioned that this technology has 17 technical patents.
Xiaomi’s remote charging technology was also capped at 5-watt remote charging for a single device within a radius of several meters. Apart from that, multiple devices were also said to be charged at the same time.
Back then, the company had said that this new charging solution will also be able to charge smartwatches, bracelets and other wearable devices in the future.
