Healthy Snacks For Entrepreneurs to Eat While Traveling

Date:

Share post:

Taking care of your health while traveling can be challenging. It’s tempting to grab a bag of chips at every gas station or chug energy drinks to stay awake while driving. However, there are quite a few better options. These ideas will help you ensure that you have a diet packed with healthy foods and the protein you need to keep your energy up.

Tips For Eating A Healthy Diet

While grabbing some trail mix is a great idea, that’s not always appetizing. You don’t want to be so miserable with eating healthy that you wind up falling into unhealthy habits. These tips and tricks will help you stick to your healthy diet while enjoying a digital nomad life.

Plan Ahead

When trying to stay healthy, it’s essential to plan. This eliminates the temptation to grab junk food on the go. You’ll have your car snacks in the car or RV and already know where to eat out or order food.

Call Restaurants Ahead For Special Diets

If you live a vegan or gluten-free lifestyle, call restaurants ahead of time to ensure that they have food that compliments your diet. If you wind up at a restaurant that doesn’t, you’re more likely to eat unhealthy food or wind up not eating dinner.

Cook For Yourself

If you find yourself in an area that doesn’t cater to a vegan or gluten-free lifestyle, you’ll quickly discover that cooking meals at home is a great idea. You can find amazing recipes for bread and delicious meals. Finding quick and easy recipes like this gluten free pizza recipe is a great way to maintain your healthy lifestyle while on the go.

Take Care Of Your Mental Health

One of the biggest barriers to healthy eating is yourself. When you’re depressed or don’t feel your best, it’s easy to fall into bad habits. While you’re on the road, engage with the community around you. Rent a coworking space for a week or two. Shop at local markets for fresh fruits and vegetables. Taking the time to enjoy the community around you will make you feel better and encourage you to eat healthier.

Healthy Snacks For Digital Nomads

Making sure you have healthy habits is a great way to keep yourself in a mindset that encourages healthy eating, but you still need to know healthy snacks that complement your digital nomad lifestyle.

Trail Mix

Trail mix is my go-to on-the-go snack. It’s full of vitamins and nutrients, including protein. Pre-packaged trail mix can be purchased at most grocery stores or gas stations. However, I prefer to make my own. You can mix nuts, such as peanuts, dehydrated fruits, and a few chocolate chips for a sweet and salty snack that satisfies your hunger.

Smoothies

If your rental has a blender, smoothies are a great idea! Pick up some fresh ingredients at a local market, and create your smoothie recipes. This is a wonderful way to drink your vegetables, too!

Pre-Made Nutritional Drinks

I like Carnation Breakfast Essentials, but that brand is far from the only one on the market. Protein shakes and nutrition shakes can be found in various brands and flavors to ensure you get your essential vitamins and nutrients. Keeping a few of these in your travel bag can help you stay healthy while on the road.

Gluten-Free Bread

Finding gluten-free bread on the go can be a bit challenging. If you have a break maker, take it with you to make your bread or baked goods. It will save you money and help you maintain your gluten-free lifestyle.

Dehydrated Fruit

Dehydrated fruit is a critical ingredient in trail mix, but it’s also a healthy snack. You can pick up dehydrated fruit at most gas stations or order it online. If you have a food dehydrator at home, you can make your own. Simply pack it in Ziploc bags before you hit the road!

Raw Fruits And Veggies

Most small towns, and some larger metro areas, have a farmer’s market. If not, you can still pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables at a local grocer. Eating raw fruits such as grapes is a great way to snack and stay healthy!

Eating while on the go can quickly lead to a downward spiral of chips, junk food, and falling off the wagon. To keep your healthy lifestyle, it’s essential to plan, learn how to cook, and ensure that you always have some tremendous on-the-go snacks handy in case you’re in a situation where cooking is just impossible.
